| MINE CLAYMORE M-18A1 | |
| Mine M1A1 is mainly a defensive weapon. The M1A1 has the same basic possibilities that the antipersonnelles mines and can be employed in the majority of the situations where other types of antipersonnelles mines are used. The M1A1 is adaptable to cover the ranges between the distance from launching of hand grenade and the distance from support from mortar and artillery. The mine is a case in plas- tick curved, rectangular, and contains a layer of C3 explosive. The front face containing the steel fragments is designed to produce a pulverization in for- me of propeller which can be directed towards a definite sector. The electric device of firing of M18 Clay- MORE is not sure. Because of its construction, it can cause the premature detonation of the mine. |
